Diane Wagner is a writer, actress, and educator who returned to the Lehigh Valley in 2003 to join the inaugural faculty at Charter Arts. She served as the Artistic Director of the Department from 2004 to 2021, and in that time, produced over 60 productions. Diane received a BA in English Communications from DeSales University and an MFA in Acting from Louisiana State University.

She worked professionally as an actress in Theatre, Film and voice-overs, and some of her favorite credits include Mary in the film Getting Grace (A Channel of Peace), Kate in Dancing at Lughnasa (LSU), Maureen in The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Particle Theatre), Katherina in The Taming of the Shrew (Tulane Shakespeare Festival and Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival), The Angel in Angels in America (Swine Palace) and Martha, in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (LSU/Kennedy Center). Diane’s debut novel, THE ALMIGHTY FATHER, was a finalist for the Foreword Reviews 2020 Indie Book of the Year. Additional writing credits include SCIENCE TIME, an 8 part children’s television program for PBS, THE PIRATE KING, a play that had a staged reading at LA’s Celebration Theater, and GOODY GOODY, an historical fiction series based on her television pilot of the same name produced in 2014.
