Mr. Beatty earned a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Juniata College, and his M.A. in Creative Writing from Iowa State University. Before joining Charter Arts in 2021, Mr. Beatty divided his time between teaching as an adjunct professor at several Pennsylvania colleges, and as a freelance author and editorial consultant.
He has written graphic novels, superhero encyclopedias, young adult fiction, and animated tales for such companies as DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, and Hasbro, Inc. In his civilian guise, Mr. Beatty lives in Northeastern, Pennsylvania with his family and wonder dogs Daisy and Archie.
