The 1st Annual Wanda and Leo DeLong Honors Piano Recital will feature a select group of piano majors, who will be selected by Charter Arts’ piano specialist, Mr. Neil Chaban.
This event is organized and presented by Charter Arts students who want to share their love of rock music with their friends and the community. The event will showcase three bands.

The Taming of the Shrew is one of Shakespeare’s most controversial plays as it relates to equality among the sexes, an issue that continues to warrant attention even in what we might view as the most enlightened and progressive cultures.
Katherina, “the Shrew,” has been able to keep men at bay with her tough exterior until Petruchio engages in a wager to “tame” her and make her his wife.
This production is directed by Diane Wagner.

The Instrumental Music Department presents performances by the Charter Arts Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Orchestra. The ensembles will perform on both Wednesday (December 16th) as well as Thursday (December 17th.) This year, the Wind Ensemble will be performing a major work by Frank Ticheli entitled, “Angels in the Architecture.”

The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Visual Art Department presents its annual Winter Art Exhibit, December 4-January 8 in the Charter Arts Gallery, 321 East 3rd Street, Bethlehem. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, December 4, 6p-9p, during South Bethlehem’s First Friday celebration. The exhibit includes a wide selection of student artwork in a variety of mediums- photography, painting, drawing. The Opening Reception is a free event and will include light refreshments, caricatures created by student artists, and artist demonstrations. There will also be a presentation of poetry readings taking place in the school’s Commons Cafe. Come join us!!

Theo Anderson graduated from Temple University with a BA in political science and discovered photography while attending graduate school at Lehigh University. Self-taught, his work is represented in private and public collections including: The Museum of Fine Art Houston, Lehigh University, The Free Library of Philadelphia, and The Kresge Museum of Art. Anderson’s major bodies of work are STEEL and the ongoing project CADILLAC. An accomplished photographer, Anderson travels the world creating dynamic photographs for editorial and advertising clients. Anderson is renowned as a photographic printer and started WILBUREDITIONS, a publisher of small handmade editions.

A First Friday/Opening reception will be held on November 6, from 6p-9p at the new Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Gallery, located at 321 East 3rd Street in South Bethlehem, for the exhibit In Cahoots, featuring curator Christine I. Oaklander’s selection of eighteen photographs from Theo Anderson’s ongoing work CADILLAC-AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHS.
The evening will include a Talk-Back with the artist and curator at 7pm.
The exhibit is currently open and runs through November 19th. The exhibit is part of the Olympus InVision Photo Festival.

For performances, you must come to 3rd Street entrance at front of the building. The student entrance on Columbia will be locked.
There is a parking authority metered lot right next to the school, with about 100 spots, (next to Southside 313 Restaurant), entrances to this lot are located on Taylor Street. There are metered spots on 3rd Street. There is also some free street parking on Polk Street, Columbia Street, and other neighborhood streets, but be sure to read signs! Parking is not allowed in the St.Luke’s or NCC lot across from the school on Polk & 3rd.
Prospective students and their families can come tour the school, meet the faculty and administration, and learn more about Charter Arts.
Tours begin at 6pm.
Presentation and program begin promptly at 6:30pm.
