The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Senior Exhibition will be hosted in the Corpora Gallery on site. This is the culminating exhibition for senior students in the Visual Art Department at Charter Arts. The exhibition will include works in painting, drawing, mixed media, and digital art. Many of the works will be available for purchase. We invite all to attend the show’s opening reception on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6 – 9 pm. Please join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating seniors.

The show will remain on display throughout the month of May.

Young Choreographers in Concert

An informal concert of works by our emerging senior choreographers!

Concert Director, Amy Berry, defines YCC as, “An invaluable opportunity for students to find their creative selves and to see an artistic process through from conception to the stage. A physical and visual expression of the students’ inner feelings and interests that is always an exciting and entertaining surprise to watch!”

YCC is the culminating event, or final exam, for the Charter Arts Dance Composition 12 course. Each senior student creates original choreography that is cohesively based on a theme of their choosing and sets this work on a group of dancers selected from the freshman, sophomore and junior classes.

Flying Solo Fashion Show

Once again the Parent Association of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) has created a very successful and unique fashion show event, Flying Solo: A Road Less Traveled. This fashion show focuses on the creative visions of student designers, professional and emerging couture designers from the Lehigh Valley and beyond. The Charter Arts Parent Association also proudly includes fashions from nationally-recognized retailers and small fashion boutiques. The result has become a creative and exciting extravaganza that pulses with electric energy… Flying Solo – A Road Less Traveled is a one of a kind experience that will thrill the audience and showcase the amazing talents and visions of an eclectic group of designers.

The Guidance Department of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts cordially invites the parent/guardian(s) of junior students to an upcoming evening program on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2016 starting at 7pm in the Theatre:

“The College Search Process – How to Begin”

The Guidance Department plans to address the following topics:

Admissions/Application Requirements
Time Management & Organization

During the school day we plan to deliver a similar to presentation to each junior by meeting with them in small groups during their artistic majors. Further, after we have met with the juniors in their majors, each student will have an individual meeting with their school counselor to personally approach the process for their own unique goals. As the need persists, students are welcome to request additional appointments to meet with their school counselor for future support in this exciting journey. Therefore, students do not need to attend the program on February 16 as they will receive the same information during school.

Handout materials will be provided upon arrival; however, we request that you bring your own pen/pencil with you to take notes, as needed.
