Charter Arts sends their first ever team to the Odyssey of the Mind Competition!
Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is an international competition that provides open-ended problems that teams of 5-7 students answer in the form of an 8-minute skit. Problems range from building mechanical devices to presenting the team’s own interpretation of literary classics. The Charter Arts team will be presenting the “Pandora’s Box” problem. The team will put a video game spin on the story of Pandora’s Box.
Team members are responsible for writing the script, making the costumes and building the set(s), all within the problem specifications and budget. Additionally, each team will be presented with a spontaneous problem on the day of competition. These problems are verbal and/or hands-on problems.
The competition will be held at the Pocono Mountain West High School on Saturday, March 14th. Exact competition time for Charter Arts is TBD.
(This posting will be updated with the time once received.)
Come out and support the Charter Arts Odyssey of the Mind Team!!

The choice to attend college is a major decision. The financing of that educational opportunity can be difficult, stressful, and/or confusing.
To that end, the Guidance Department of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts is sponsoring a program on Monday, December 22nd at 7 p.m. in the Choir Room:
An Evening About Scholarships and Financial Aid
for an Education Beyond High School.
We have invited Michael Burke, Higher Education Access Partner for Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) to be our guest speaker. He plans to address the in/outs of completing the FAFSA, key vocabulary, and critical deadlines in the financial aid process.
The FAFSA is available to complete online as of January 1, 2015. In addition, many colleges/universities require that you submit the FAFSA by a February 1st deadline to be eligible for their institutional aid. Therefore, we have planned this presentation to equip you with the knowledge to complete the application successfully and meet upcoming deadlines.
Handouts and discussion topics for the evening include:
We hope to see all of you at our program on December 22nd at 7 p.m.
