WHAT IS BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT?

Parents and guardians can mark their calendars for our annual Back-to-School Night taking place on Wednesday, September 13th from 6:00-7:30 PM.  Parents/guardians who are attending the Family Engagement Session on “Understanding Title I Services” should arrive by 5:20 PM. READ MORE HERE.

PARKING & ENTRANCE:  Please use the 3rd Street Entrance.  Since our staff will be present for the event, please do not park in the Staff parking lot at Taylor Street.  The Polk Street parking garage is open and available.  There is also a public lot across from the school on 3rd Street.  Of course metered parking is available on 3rd Street as well.

Back-to-School Night is a wonderful opportunity for parents/guardians to learn more about their child’s school day experience as they walk the building and attend short meet-and-greets** with teachers. Administration and artistic departments will also hold brief sessions to share information and highlights about the school year.  (**This time is not reserved for individual conferences with teachers.  If you would like to talk with a teacher specifically about your child, please email them to set up a meeting as necessary.)

Parents/guardians can visit information tables in the Commons Cafe that will include:

STUDENT CLUBS, TRANSPORTATION, HEALTH ROOM/NURSE, ATHLETIC TRAINER, COUNSELING DEPARTMENT, CHARTER ARTS FOUNDATION.  Also the STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM liaison will have a table and will be joined by community organizations: Center for Humanistic Change, Valley Youth House, Crime Victims Council, Turning Point, NAMI, Reset Outdoors, Shanthi Project & Resilient LV.

9/10th grade parent/guardian schedule:

6:00 – 6:25 pm Administrative assembly in Theatre

6:30 – 6:55 pm Walk the school, see the building, meet your child’s core teachers*, visit stations in Commons

7:00 – 7:25 pm Artistic department presentations

11/12th grade parent/guardian schedule:

6:00 – 6:25 pm Artistic department presentations

6:30 – 6:55 pm Administrative assembly in Theatre

7:00 – 7:25 pm Walk the school, see the building, meet your child’s core teachers*, visit stations in Commons
