Sophia was born and raised in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School and received her bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with concentrations in education, communications, and American Sign Language. Before joining the Charter Arts community, she had been teaching Spanish to grades K-10 at a small private school. In addition to teaching, she has volunteered at the election polls, camps for deaf children, and various causes in Puerto Rico.
Already familiar with implementing individualized and project-based curriculum, she is excited to incorporate students’ love and passion for the arts into their Spanish education.
